Mario Moreira was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and immigrated to Toronto, Canada at a young age. He has worked as a music video Production Designer, a Props Master and has shadowed many Director’s over his 17 years in the film industry. His first short film, BedWetter, is an intense, super-natural drama about the relationship between fathers and sons.  It garnered praise at film festivals across North America.  For his award winning second film, 10:17, a dramatic science –fiction short, Mario once again chose the theme ‘children in peril’, this time shining the light on the unique bond of brotherhood as two young men bravely face a world ending disaster. What We Do With Witches, finds Mario, back after a long break from directing, in his preferred element of working with young actors, this time focusing on the teenage trauma of bullying, with a supernatural twist.
